A corrupt general (reward: +200 Influence, +2 Power)

From: Key found on body of Duhaine, in Villa Maurel, as part of completing A vicious thug sidequest

Documents on Duhaime's corpse detailed the whereabout of the Freemen leader. The man, known as Maliphant, is likely somewhere inside a villa held by the Freemen in the Emerald Graves.

Go inside the villa and kill everyone inside.

 

Deal with Maliphant

 

He is a rogue backstabber, so watch out for his blink-strike attacks. He also has some other Freemen archers with him. Kill him to finish the quest.

 

 

 

 

A bear to cross (reward: +80 Influence)

From: Johnson in Hill Camp, only available after progressing in the area (do not know exact trigger for this quest)

A large, territorial bear has been rampaging through the Inquisition camp, scaring people and destroying supplies.

 

Hunt down the problem bear

 

Head north-east to the marked location, to a cave. Inside is the massive bear and its cubs. Kill all to complete the quest.

 

 

 

 

A deluded chevalier (reward: +200 Influence, +2 Power)

From: Note on table in the Veridium Mine, to the east of Briathos' Steps Camp

Documents found in Costeau's camp mention a chevalier named Auguste who is working for the Freemen. He was last seen at Argon's Lodge in the Emerald Graves.

 

Go to Argon's Lodge

 

Head to the marked location, directly west of Briathos' Stesps Camp, and prepare to fight a lot of Freemen guards.

 

Deal with Chevalier Auguste

 

He is a two handed warrior with guard abilities. Kill him to complete the quest. Loot his body for Sketch of chateau courtyard.

 

 

 

 

A fallen sister (reward: +200 Influence, +2 Power)

From: Documents found at the end of Watcher's Reach refugees quest

Fairbanks' documents mention a Freemen target named Sister Costeau, who was last stationed at the veridium mine in the Emerald Graves.

 

Go to the Veridium Mine

 

Go to the marked location on the map. Some Freemen guards will be guarding the entrance to the mine.

 

Deal with Sister Costeau

 

Head into the mine and slaughter all inside. The Sister is a Defender type enemy, and can deflect basic magic staff attacks. She will drop Soulkisser (unique mace) upon death.

 

 

 

 

A lover's promise (reward: +80 Influence)

From: Note on wall, in Lion's Pavilion, directly to the north of Briathos' Steps Camp

A man has asked his lover to meet him in Gracevine, so they can run away together.

 

Go to the Gracevine grove

 

Head to the marked location, to the north of Gracevine Camp. Examine the campsite to finish the quest, and summon a Giant Spider. So that's what happened to them.

 

 

 

 

 

A vicious thug (reward: +200 Influence, +2 Power)

From: Note on table in the Veridium Mine, to the east of Briathos' Steps Camp

Documents found in Costeau's camp mention a commander for the Freemen named Duhaime. He is among peers holding a deserted villa in the Emerald Graves.

 

Find the Freemen villa

 

Head to the marked location. There will be some guards.

 

Deal with Commander Duhaime

 

The person in question is a two handed warrior with guard abilities. Take him out to complete the quest. Once he is down, a quest icon will appear. Take the villa key off his body to start A corrupt general sidequest.

 

 

 

 

Artifact requisition in the Graves (reward: +100 Influence, +1 Power)

From: Requisition officer at any camp

Dalish elders have requested the Inquisition's aid in recovering elven artifacts stolen by the Freemen.

 

Gather ancient artifacts (x3 Ancient writings, x5 Dalish tomes)

 

Once you have this quest, Freemen enemies within the Emerald Graves will drop these items on death.

 

 

 

Chateau d'Onterre (reward: +200 Influence, +2 Power) *Need to have completed A deluded chevalier and looted his corpse for the Sketch of Chateau courtyard clue

From: Automatically acquired when entering Chateau d'Onterre, found south-east of Direstone Camp

What exactly happened in the long-abandoned Chateau d'Onterre is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps exploring its darkest corners will unvocer some truth-or treasures.

 

Gain access to the grand balcony

 

The clues can easily be accessed by looking at the quest in your quest log and seeing related codex entries.

The first clue is a picture of three windows, water, and a coloured bird below. The bird is the location of the next piece of the puzzle. This can be found on the ground level, in the outside middle area, Formal Gardens. The bird statue is at the edge of the pond, and the clue is on the ground next to it.

The second clue shows an arched corridor and a coloured man with wings. This can be found up the stairs that lead to the Library, at the other end of the railing overlooking the stairs. It is a small statue that you can open for the third clue.

The third clue is two large statues between a fire, with a coloured head above it. This can be found in one of the bedchambers on the second floor, at the back of the room. The clue is hidden behind a painting above the fireplace. Move the painting to find the fourth clue.

The fourth clue is a coloured lion's head in front of a dragon. This can be found at the top of the other set of stairs, on the second floor of the ballroom. Find the lion's head ornament that the dragon is facing, and move it to show a small cutscene. Grab the note from the dragon's tail, and you will receive a note as well as the key. 

Head to the grand balcony door and open it. Once you activate the glowing cube of 'absolutely nothing will go wrong here', and you will get +10 Cunning (this was done with a Rogue, you may get different based on your class). This will also spawn an Arcane Horror in the Formal Garden below. Kill it to complete the quest.

Devotion (reward: +80 Influence)

From: Pile of notes in Andruil's Wall, next to Andraste's Light landmark, to the north-east of Hill Camp

Dolores lights a candle for her son at the chantry each year on the anniversary of his death. She is unable to do so this year because of the war.

Head to the Lion's Pavilion, directly north of Briathos' Steps Camp, near a landmark. Go to the lion fountain at the base of the pavilion entry and place the candle to complete the quest.

 

 

 

 

Holding the Emerald Graves (reward: +100 Influence, and +100 Influence, +1 Power per camp site)

From: The Inquisition, upon arrival to the area

Establish camps to hold the Emerald Graves and support Inquisition activity in the region.

Quite a simple quest, if a bit time consuming. All you need to do is to travel to each of the indicated camp sites on the map and claim them. This enables fast travel between camp sites and will make your exploration far quicker and easier.

 

 

 

 

Last Wishes (reward: +80 Influence)

From: An urn with a skull on top, north-west of Briathos' Steps Camp

Robert Caron's last wish was to have his ashes scattered on the plateau overlooking the Greatwood. His wife was too frail to complete the task.

This map, found near an ancient elven ruin in Gracevine, marks a spot near a distinctive arch in the Emerald Graves.

Head to the marked location to find a book and picnic basket near a scenic view. Read the diary to complete the quest, and find out why she died. Seriously.

 

 

 

 

Noble Deeds, Noble Heart (reward: +600 Influence, +2 Power)

From: Clara at Watcher's Reach, after completing Not everyone's free sidequest

Clara heard a rumor that Fairbanks is of noble descent. She believes it and wants proof to show the Council of Heralds. If Fairbanks gains power, she hopes he can do more for the people of the Dales.

The Freemen have taken residents of Watcher's Reach captive.

Find the key on some barrels near the stairs leading down from the entrance of the mine. Look at the screenshot for a better idea of where it is.

Head back to the cell and release the prisoners. There is also a fair amount of veridium in the cell.

Troilus Hertubise is researching Fade rifts for what he calls his "Great Mission". He appears to have camped at a safe distance from each rift for a time, observing its behavior.

Head to the marked location, to the north-east of Gracevine Camp, to a small campsite to find a note on the ground.

 

Search for the second river camp

 

Travel to the marked location, to the east of Direstone Camp, to a body under an overhang. Read the corpse to complete the quest.

 

 

 

 

 

Obsidian survey in the Graves (reward: +200 Influence, +1 Power)

From: Requisition officer at any camp

The University of Orlais has requested bloodstone and obsidian samples for a geological survey of the Emerald Graves.

 

Fill the requisition (x5 Obsidian, x10 Bloodstone)

 

Obsidian is found near areas containing fire (such as nearby dragons). Bloodstone can be found in rocky areas commonly in the Emerald Graves. Go to the requisition table to complete the requisition.

 

 

 

Pyrophite survey in the Graves (reward: +200 Influence, +1 Power)

From: Requisition officer at any camp

The University of Orlais has requested pyrophite and everite samples for a geological survey of the Emerald Graves.

 

Gather the survey samples (x1 Everite, x20 Pyrophite)

 

Everite can be found in the southern areas of Emprise du Lion, in rocky caves. Pyrophite can be found in rocky areas of Emerald Graves. Hand in at a requisition table at any camp.

 

 

 

 

Remedy requisition in the Graves (reward: +200 Influence, +1 Power)

From: Requisition officer at any camp

Inquisition agents operating in Val Royeaux are requesting additional remedies to protect against "accidental" poisoning by the nobility. Ingredients for these remedies grow well in the Emerald Graves.

 

Fill the requisition (x10 Rashvine, x5 Nugskin)

 

Rashvine can be found in Emerald Graves, as well as Emprise du Lion, in and surrounding Sahrnis camp. Nugskin can be found in locations that are heavy in lyrium, and also in areas with lots of greenery. Kill them to obtain. Hand in at a requisition table at any camp.

There are fragments of a runed key scattered throughout Villa Maurel. If the fragment are reassembled, the key may unlock something of value.

Find a way to reassemble the runed key

 

Near where the locked door is for the key to be used, is a bashable wall that only a warrior can break. Inside this room is where the key can be put together. Place the key fragments on the table, and use a mage to energize the machine to rejoin the Runed Key.

An Amulet of Power (+1 ability point – Vivienne) and an Orlesian Banner Crown (keep customisation item) can be found amongst the loot.

From: Completing the operation: Investigate elven ruins

A group of elves are investigating a tomb somewhere in the Emerald Graves that may hold secrets of great historical significance to the Dalish.

 

Find the tomb

 

Head to the marked location at Din'ah Halin. This will take you to a separate area. Once inside, fight your way through Venatori to the red templar behemoth. It will drop an emerald seal piece. Pick it up.

All the locations of the pieces are marked on the map. Head through exploring the area until you have found and collected all nine pieces. Some will be held be behemoths. Others will be shown as an area search, which can be found using advanced search. There is a supply cache in the far south-west area of the main level (level 2). There some rogue lockpick doors, as well as a couple of Master lockpick doors on the Upper Crypt level (level 3).

 

Enter Elandrin's chamber

 

Once you have all nine pieces, head to the door on the Lower Crypt level (level 4), and use the seals to open it.

 

Locate the artifact

 

In this area, use a veilfire torch to light the four braziers in a square around the very inconspicous floating blue light. Lighting each will spawn a group of enemies to defeat. Once all four are lit, the bridge will raise. Head across and take the artifact.

 

Sell the histories to the Chantry (+Gold)

Return the histories to the Dalish (+200 Infuence, +2 Power)

 

 

 

Victims of war (reward: +230 Influence, +1 Power, +Agent)

From: Automatically obtained after completing A corrupt general, A deluded chavalier, and A vicious thug sidequests

With all the Freemen leaders dead, Fairbanks and his people should feel a lot safer in the Emerald Graves.

 

Speak to Fairbanks in Watcher's Reach

 

Fast travel back to Watcher's Reach, and talk to Fairbanks to finish this quest.

(This will also unlock the Draw out the red templar lieutenant operation)

 

 

 

 

Watcher's Reach refugees (reward: +80 Influence)

From: The Inquisition, upon arrival to the area

Inquisition scouts have been approached by Orlesian rebel named fairbanks who requests protection. Fairbanks and his followers are being attacked by a suspicious group calling themselves the Freemen of the Dales.
