Level 8 – Juggernauts And Crosses

When the heroes begin the level they will be inside a burning room in the X-men mansion. The first objective here is to help the trapped students escape to safety before the exit will be opened.

Minikit 01/10 – Magnetism + Flight:

 

In the starting room, on a balcony to the left will be a blue glowing gramophone. Use a magnetic based character (eg: Magneto) to produce the first minikit.

 

Minikit 02/10 – Flame:

 

On the right side of the starting room is a cabinet with a gold padlock on it. Melt it away with a flame based hero (eg: The Human Torch) to open it up. Pieces will fall out that can be reconstructed into an X and shows the second minikit.

Professor X will inform you that there are escape tunnels you can open to help the students get out. On the left hand side of the area is a bookcase blocked by a golden statue. Run up to it with Cyclops and use his eye beam to melt it away. Then swap to Jean Gray and use telekinesis to move the bookcase aside to reveal a switch.

 

Pull it to reveal the first escape tunnel and rescue your first student. The debris at the base of the stairs can be destroyed to provide the parts to rebuild the stairs. Climb up the now replaced stairs onto the balcony.

 

Move the portrait of Jean Gray aside with telekinesis, then swap to Cyclops and cut the golden wall behind it away. Use the cut out bricks to create a switch to open the second tunnel and save the other student. After the students are safe, Juggernaut will run in through the wall and then leave through the right door. Head through the now open doorway to reach the next area.

Minikit 03/10 – Web spot: In the hallway will be a door with a web spot on it. Use a web based character (eg: Spider-man) to pull it open and then smash the crate within to obtain the third minikit.

 

Minikit 04/10 – Telekinesis: After blowing a hole in the hallway wall with telekinesis to avoid flaming beams, there will be a plunger next to a toilet inside. This can be plunged by a telekinesis character (eg: Jean Gray) to obtain the fourth minikit.

Head down the hallway until Juggernaut smashes through the wall and then another doorway. Move close to the flames on the right and mind control the character on the other side of the flames. Move him into the small room where Juggernaut smashed out from and build the water tank to put out the flames.

 

Now the flames are out on the heroes side, Jean will be able to open the now accessible telekinetic door to reach the other side.

 

 

On the right side of the area, part of the barricade is made from a gold object for Cyclops to burn away. Swap to Jean Gray and break apart the barricade with telekinesis to enter the room beyond. Inside the new room, Toad is playing with Storm on the chandelier.

Minikit 05/10 – Magnetism:

 

In the large room with the chandelier, where Storm joins the party there is a blue magnetic statue in the back of the room. Use a magnetic based character (eg: Magneto) to raise it up and reveal the fifth minikit.

Swap to Storm and use her lightning powers to electrocute Toad and gain her freedom. The chair at the table can be moved with telekinesis by Jean Gray. Destroy the objects on the right hand side to get the parts for a second chair. Build it and move it into place.

 

Attack the piano to boogie and give you the parts for the final chair. Build and place it reveal an electrical switch for Storm to power. Charge it up to open the secret escape tunnel and let the students escape. Brotherhood mutants will then smash through the rear door and the security doors will be sealed.

 

Clear the room of enemies, then melt the golden panel on the door with Cyclops. This will open up to show a nozzle that can be manipulated with telekinesis to plug into the statue nearby. This raises the statue and reveals an electrical switch for Storm to use. Blast it with electricity to clear the way once more and the heroes will enter the back garden of the mansion.

Stan Lee – Ice + Green handles + Telekinesis:

 

After getting back out in the fresh air, you may spot Stan Lee teetering over a flaming hut. Put out the flames with an ice based character (eg: Iceman) and build the green handles underneath. Swap to a big character (eg: The Hulk) to dispose of the hut and then use a telekinetic character (eg: Jean Gray) to assemble the trampoline to rescue Stan.

 

Minikit 06/10 – Destroy five gargoyles + Flight:

 

On the side of the roof, next to Stan Lee is a gargoyle that can be destroyed. The remaining gargoyles are all in this area and are easily spotted and destroyed to obtain the minikit.

 

Minikit 07/10 – Dig spot + Telekinesis:

 

In the rear right of the area, next to the vine wrapped doorway is a lego bush and a dig spot. Dig up and assemble the parts for the hedgetrimmer. Swap to a telekinetic hero (eg: Jean Gray) to trim the hedge and obtain the minikit.

 

Minikit 08/10 – Dig spot + Sand:

 

Underneath some objects at the front of the area (the tables with umbrellas) will be a dig spot. Swap to a claw based character (eg: Wolverine) to find the pieces of a sand pit to assemble. Swap to a sand based character (eg: Sandman) and use the sandpit to turn into a satellite dish and airlift in the minikit.

In the middle of the area Pyro and Iceman will be in a pitched battle. Take control of Iceman and tap the B button rapidly to overpower Pyro and win the battle. Juggernaut and Colossus will smash through the nearby wall, smashing the fountain. Use Iceman to freeze the fountain's water into an ice wall to protect the party.

 

This also provides a ramp for the heroes to use to reach the upper area. Head to the upper area and douse the fires with Iceman. Swap to Cyclops and burn the golden object to smash the wall blocking the way. This will also break a pipe, providing some water for Iceman to freeze into a bridge across. This give the troops access to the right side of the area.

 

Use Jean Gray's telekinesis to move the vines out of the way of the doors. Swap over to Cyclops and melt the doors open to get back inside.

Minikit 09/10 – Magnetism + Shield switch + Mr Fantastic:

 

Back inside there will be a large blue vending machine that can be moved aside by a magnetic character (eg: Magneto). This will shatter, resulting in the parts for a shield switch. Swap to Captain America and shield the switch to unlock a nearby Grille. Swap to Mr Fantastic and enter the grille to obtain the ninth minikit.

There are more students here to rescue so time to get to saving. Next to the big screen is a bookcase that can be moved by Jean Gray's telekinesis to reveal a hidden room. Mind control the worker inside and make him flip the switch. This will activate the screen and make a panel rise up out of the floor.

 

Step on each of the lit panels (on the screen) with a character on the floor to light them up. Once all the panels are lit, the secret passage will open up and the students will get out. Brotherhood mutants will knock down some debris which can be constructed into a telekinetic platform.

 

Jean Gray can use this platform to raise the rest of the party and herself to the upper floor. The clock with the golden pendulum can be melted and broken into the pieces for a ladder to the floor below.

 

Get close to the flaming doorway as Iceman and then douse the flames. Use Jean Gray to make a bridge across the flaming gap and then swap to Cyclops to melt the hinges on the door to open it up.

 

In this new room it will turn out that the squad is back in the starting room on an upper balcony. Drop down and watch Gambit and Juggernaut duking it out. Use Iceman to clear the stairway of flames and smash the clutter on the right hand side to reach the top.

 

Clear the flames in the upper area to get the parts for a pair of statues. These statues can be placed on their matching coloured pedestals by Jean Gray's telekinesis. This will open up the painting below to show an electrical switch for Storm to use. This opens up the final secret passage to the boss fight.

Boss: Juggernaut

 

 

 

Juggernaut will stand in the back corner of the area, throwing garbage at your squad. Swap to Jean Gray and use your telekinesis (timing is important here) to throw the boxes back at him for the first point of damage.

Minikit 10/10 – Destroy four contol panels on the walls + Telekinesis:

 

In this small area are four gold and purple control panels (one in each corner) that can be destroyed by a character with telekinesis (eg: Jean Gray) for the final minikit.

Juggernaut will get a box stuck on his head and begin to sprint about, damaging anything in his way. Douse the flames on the left side with Iceman to obtain the parts for the left roller door. Get two characters to hang from the bars on the left roller door to disgorge a box.

 

Smash it apart and construct the radio to lure the Juggernaut into ramming the wall and getting his head stuck. Freeze the puddle underneath him with Iceman and then swap to Jean Gray to lift the frozen Juggernaut up with telekinesis and smash him into the ground for the second point of damage.

 

Repeat the telekinesis box return throw with Jean Gray for the third point of damage. This will knock him down again (crushing a tank with pieces inside). Juggernaut will resume his blind running around while you douse the flames with Iceman and then build the aforementioned pieces into a switch.

 

Swap to Beast to operate the switch and more junk will drop out of the roller door that can be made into an alarm clock for Juggernaut to charge at. Freeze him and throw him once again to deal the fourth point of damage.

 

Juggernaut will send in more brotherhood mutants to distract you and then damage the ceiling, raining down pieces for a control panel. Construct the panel and swap to Beast to use it. This will give you control of a loading crane. Move it along the path until it can grab the Juggernaut's helmet, leaving him prey to Jean's mind control.

 

Beat up as many brotherhood mutants as you want before pulling up the green handles, leaking water all over Juggernaut. Freeze him and smash him with telekinesis to deal the final point of damage and win the fight.
