Weapon Advice:

 

* Close to mid range weapon

* Decent mid ranged capabilities in short controlled bursts

* Shots at longer range can be difficult due to spray effect and damage drop off

* Closer to a SMG than a rifle due to its rapid fire speed and relatively low damage per shot

 

Overall: A decent weapon to start with, helps newcomers learn the gun-play mechanics and provides decent close and mid range coverage. Against distant targets however you will have limited options. Even with the AOG scope, it is difficult to draw a consistent bead on long distance targets. Especially when that target is shooting back.

 

 

EVA-8 SHOTGUN

 

Attachments – Mod

 

High Capacity Drum – Increases ammo capacity (by 3).

Leadwall – Increases the spread of the weapon. This reduces your damage but increases accuracy (strangely).

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons damage and range slightly.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close range weapon

* For one on one surprise close range engagements, this weapon is pretty much unbeatable (one shot one kill)

* With suppressor, the lethality drops slightly but enemies don't know where you are shooting from. This can give you a major advantage when engaging unsuspecting pilots (e.g. rooftop snipers).

* Keep inside buildings when possible as the lack of range means you will be picked off by everyone with a mid range weapon or better.

 

Overall: Useful in very specific situations and can be good in aggressive players hands. However, due to it's lack of range and situational use, everyone else will want to steer clear of this one.

 

 

SMART PISTOL MK5

 

Attachments – Mod

 

Enhanced Targeting – Accelerates the lock-on speed of the smart pistol and increases it's range. The downside is the area you can lock on to is smaller.

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 6).

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons damage and fire rate slightly.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close to close mid range weapon

* This gun is the game changer for people who are not used to console controls or who have difficulty aiming with the regular guns

* The main downside (time taken to acquire three targets on a pilot) can be reduced by taking the enhanced targeting mod

* This gun can be great in the attrition game mode combined with the minion detector ability allowing you to rack up grunt and specter kills rapidly

 

Overall: A great inclusion for those that aren't shooter veterans and those that just want to race around getting perfect head shots on everything. The downside is that it is less effective than regular weapons against pilots, but you can counter these flaws with cloak, power cell and suppressor if you want to be a stealth operative.

 

 

R-97 COMPACT SMG (unlocks at level 6)

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 10).

Scatterfire – Increases the weapon's fire rate even more but in doing so reduces accuracy.

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons accuracy, damage and range slightly.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close to close mid range weapon

* Works very well against pilots due to the high rate of fire

* Adding the suppressor and using clock with the power core ability makes for a great stealth kill setup

* For aggressive engagements, scatterfire, the stim ability and a HCOG scope can prove very effective.

 

Overall: Works very well against enemy pilots in close range and provides several effective mixes of perks and abilities for engaging them. If you don't care for long range at all, this weapon can prove very useful.

 

 

LONGBOW-DMR SNIPER (unlocks at level 9)

 

Attachments – Scope

 

6x Zoom Scope (default) – same as name

AOG – 2.4x zoom, magazine display, ammo readout

4.5x Zoom Scope – what it says on the tin.

 

Attachments – Mod

 

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 4).

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons accuracy, damage and range slightly.

Stabilizer – Reduces the weaving of the weapon when looking down the scope thus increasing accuracy.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* long mid to long range weapon

* The first available true sniper rifle

* Ranged lethality, close quarters hindrance

* Quick scoping has been removed, so players will have to rely on skill to survive in tight quarters.

 

Overall: For players who enjoy sniper combat, this will be the first opportunity to enjoy it. An efficient and damaging weapon at range, combined with suppressor and cloak can make you an invisible rooftop menace. You will most likely want to trade up once you unlock the final sniper rifle though.

 

 

G2A4 RIFLE (unlocks at level 18)

Match Trigger – Allows you to fire the weapon as fast as you can pull the trigger. Reduces accuracy slightly but increases rate of fire (depending on the user, dramatically),

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons accuracy, damage and range slightly.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close mid to long range weapon

* Similar to the single shot weapons in CoD and Battlefield games

* Match trigger can instantly transform the weapon into a lethal killing machine depending on your trigger finger and aim.

* Can be turned into a mid range sniper rifle with suppressor and cloak (and a decent scope).

 

Overall: A nice middle of the road weapon for all those that prefer accuracy over spraying madly. The match trigger attachment can make or break this weapon for those that use it as anyone with a good trigger finger and decent twitch reflexes will improve dramatically once this unlocks.

 

 

HEMLOK BF-R (unlocks at level 29)

Starburst – Shoots a burst of five shots at once. Reducing accuracy but increasing fire rate.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close to long mid range weapon

* Suppressor drops lethality significantly, so make sure to consider your play style before attaching it

* Starburst makes it almost like an under-slung shotgun in CoD games. Decreases range but increases close range stopping power

* Decent for long mid range combat (especially with a decent scope), but not as effective as sniper rifles

 

Overall: A balanced rifle that can be used in most situations. The starburst mod can completely change the play style of the weapon so give it a try and see if it suits.

 

 

C.A.R SMG (unlocks at level 34)

Counterweight – Keeps weapon cross-hairs at a fixed size, increasing accuracy when fired from the hip and/ or moving

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 10).

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons damage, accuracy and range slightly.

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close to mid range weapon

* Suppressor drops lethality significantly, so make sure to consider your play style before attaching it

* One of the best weapons for quickly taking out pilots in close or mid range. A large number of higher level players can be seen using these.

* The counterweight mod has no drawback, so keep it on if you don't need the others.

 

Overall: One of the best weapons for fast paced run and gun action. The C.A.R SMG is rapid firing, lethal and good at close and mid range. Combine it with the counterweight mod to truly dominate the battlefield.

 

 

SPITFIRE LMG (unlocks at level 39)

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 16).

Slammer – Increases gun damage when damaging a titan in rodeo

 

Weapon Advice:

 

* Close to mid range weapon

* Recoil works in reverse on this weapon, it starts off kicking madly then steadies after a few shots

* The recoil effect can get you killed and allow you to miss otherwise easy shots

* The slammer mod increases your damage against titans when rodeoing them. This makes it very effective when taking them down that way.

 

Overall: If you can control the crazy initial kicking, the spitfire can prove to be quite a dangerous weapon. The slammer mod can make you a big threat to enemy titans if you like being on the front lines. If you don't like the inaccuracy of the first few shots however, you may want to grab a different gun.

 

 

KRABER-AP SNIPER (unlocks at level 44)

Suppressor – Shots no longer make you appear on enemies mini map, but reduces the weapons damage and range slightly.

Weapon Advice:

 

* Long mid to extended long range

* Most powerful single shot damage from any pilot weapon

* Very accurate and even more so with the stabilizer

* Combined with cloak and a suppressor, can create your own rooftop dominion

 

Overall: If you are in to long ranged accurate sniping, this is the gun for you. Similar to the Barret 50. cal in CoD games, the one shot one kill mentality is what this was made for. Combine it with cloak, power cell and a good vantage point and you can suppress every rooftop at once.
