Titan – Primary Weapon

40MM CANNON

Attachments – Mod

Burst Fire – Allows firing in three round bursts. Reduces damage and accuracy but increases fire rate.

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 5).

Weapon Advice:

* Good for beginners as it is simple to keep on target and doesn't required constant reloading

* A steady stream of damage as opposed to blasts of it

* Useful for aiming at critical areas of enemy titans

* Can be converted to burst fire by more accurate, experienced players to increase damage

Overall: A good starting weapon that will deal constant damage to an enemy. However, at higher levels and against experienced enemies, titan battles only last a few seconds (unless they are far away from each other) so the damage potential for that situation drops. Once better weapons become accessible you may want to swap this one out.

QUAD ROCKET

Attachments – Mod

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 1).

Rapid Fire – Turns the launcher into a semi-automatic with a high rate of fire. Reducing damage and only allowing you to fire a single missile at a time. However your firing rate and accuracy increase.

Weapon Advice:

* Deals solid damage per hit

* Clever use of the vortex shield can make hitting an enemy impossible

* Slow projectile movement means its shots are easy to catch with the vortex shield or particle wall

* Effective at clearing interiors of buildings of pilots and AI enemies due to splash radius

Overall: A damaging but predictable weapon, if an experienced player has a vortex shield it makes it very difficult to damage them with missiles. Use it combined with melee to make it less predictable or take the rapid fire mod to keep a steady stream of shots going.

XO-16 CHAINGUN

Attachments – Mod

Accelerator – Slows down the initial firing rate of the weapon and then increases it to more than normal as time passes. Lowers accuracy but increases overall firing rate.

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 30).

Weapon Advice:

* Good for beginners as it is simple to keep on target and doesn't required constant reloading

* A steady stream of damage as opposed to blasts of it

* Useful for aiming at critical areas of enemy titans

* The accelerator mod can be useful for increasing your firing rate as you close on an enemy titan. Open fire (slowly) and keep moving towards them and your firing speed will skyrocket by the time you reach them.

Overall: Similar to the 40mm cannon it is a good starting weapon that will deal constant damage to an enemy. However, at higher levels and against experienced enemies, titan battles only last a few seconds (unless they are far away from each other) so the damage potential for that situation drops. Once better weapons become accessible you may want to swap this one out. It is a bit more accurate at range though.

PLASMA RAILGUN (unlocks at level 12)

Attachments – Mod

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 1).

Instant Shot – Sets the weapon's damage to a defined level and takes away charge time. This means it cannot reach the same damage potential as before but can fire much quicker.

Weapon Advice:

* Great long range titan combat weapon

* Not as useful in close range due to charge time and low damage for non charged shots

* Cannot be "collected" by the vortex shield

* Instant shot mod turns it into a much better close to mid range weapon (but loses charging capabilities)

Overall: If you intend to engage titans in long range battles, this is the earliest weapon that allows you to do that well. If you want a decent close to mid range weapon where the shots cannot be reflected at you by vortex shields, take the instant shot mod with it. A gun that lets you have it your way.

ARC CANNON (unlocks at level 21)

Attachments – Mod

Capacitor – Allows the weapon to be charged further than normal to inflict more damage. The weapon must be fully charged to fire however. Increased damage and accuracy but lower firing rate.

Weapon Advice:

* The jump effect of the arc cannon can rack up unsuspected kills (pilots next to their auto titans, ai enemies nearby etc.)

* Good for engaging multiple enemies at once with support as you can hit multiple titans at once.

* Projectiles cannot be "collected" by the vortex shield

* Works well with the particle wall at mid range to prevent incoming damage, however enemy titans will dash to the side to try and get around the wall so pick a good deployment spot.

Overall: One of the better weapons when used correctly, the arc cannon should be considered by every titan pilot due to it's usefulness in various situations. If you intend to use it as support or for ranged combat, take the capacitor mod. This will allow you to fire off massively damaging shots at range.

TRIPLE THREAT (unlocks at level 28)

Attachments – Mod

Extended Magazine – Increases magazine capacity (by 3).

Mine Field – Converts the fired grenades to proximity mines that stick in the ground once fired. This increases accuracy but reduces range.

Weapon Advice:

* One of the more fun weapons, the triple grenades can be arced up to increase their effective range

* Mine field can be fun to watch if you know an enemy titan is approaching from a certain direction (vortex shield it's projectiles and watch it blow itself up trying to get to you).

* Great weapon for clearing out interiors (but watch out for bounce back of grenades off walls)

* Depending on the skill of the user, this weapon will either be useless or the best one available

Overall: Very dependent on the skill and planning abilities of the user, the limited range makes long range confrontations very difficult (unless you are in the stryder chassis). In every situation however, the triple threat is useful, damaging and fun to use. Most players will end up choosing between the plasma rail gun (long range), the arc cannon (mid range) or the triple threat (close range). Make your choice, pilot.
