Special monsters, these never appear in lairs, and very seldom in story missions. Very heavy but not very hard, you'll want a hero with decent medium-to-long range attacks to run around it, dodging its own attack effects, and firing at the weak spot in its heart. Note that, in the later game, golems will apear randomly on the map, and may unintentionally interfere with story missions in the same area.
