Mission 9: The Second Alcolyte

You start the level in front of the murderous statue with another trail to follow. Jump over the cracked part of the wall with your new double jump power.

Life Gem: To the left of the stairs here.

Open up the hatch and drop down into the sewers. Follow the linear path until you get to a larger room with fans inside. Float up to the level above and you will run smack dab into two guards.

Memorial: Throw bats at the further away guard (not the one on the steps) and when the other guards turns to assist the bat stricken one, move out and then mist the rest of the way (your mist is not long enough to make it all the way across by itself). Drop down the grate without airflow to find this

The easiest way to complete this room is to throw bats at the far guard (not the stairs one) when you enter, run behind the one that goes to check the bat struck one and then as you approach the stairs, mist your way up and through the guard and door. This is a lot easier and less frustrating to retry than the other method of crossing, stunning one of the patrolling guards when the guard on the stairs back is turned and then misting up the steps through him and the door.

Once you are through (trust me, it's harder than it sounds), a room full of red laser barriers will block your path. Two things to note here: you have to use your double jump to clear both types of wall (short and tall) and misting through the barriers does not work. You also need to double jump and then mist onto the fan to have enough mist power to make it to the next floor. This can be a massive pain but by the end you will have mastered the timing on that double jump.

On the floor above, a healing statue and magic font await (some mercy at last). Hop in the elevator and head up when you are ready to go. As you exit the elevator you will find Trevor waiting for you. I chose to confront the alcolyte (and got roasted Emperor Palpatine style), then slowly crawled back to where I saw Trevor run before. This takes you and the alcolyte back to the past.

Boss: Nergal Meslamstea / Riders of the Storm

Attacks – Spear, Sword and Club

Slash (Spear):  He will hold he spear up and back briefly before slashing in an arc around and in front of him.  Dodge back to avoid.

Stab and Slash (Spear):  He will raise his spear, stab at you, twirl his spear, then stab again.  Dodge away to avoid.

Wind Tunnel (Spear):  He will start spinning his spear very fast which will cause a tunnel of wind to extend out from him.  He wont aim it directly for you, but if you are caught in it, you will be dragged to him and then grabbed.  Complete a QTE to escape.  Run around or dodge to avoid.

Tornado (Spear):  He will hold his hand out, then jump, turning into a tornado, and head towards you.  If he reaches you, complete the QTE to escape.  Dodge away to avoid.

Stab (Club):  He will pull his club back, stab it forward, bring it around with a spin, and stab again.  Seeing as the club is massive, the stab and swing covers a fair area.  Dodge back to avoid.

Shockwave (Club):  He will raise him club above his head, and slam it down, creating a massive shockwave.  Jump to avoid.

Whirlwind (Club):  He will hold the club in one hand, pull it behind him, and swing it around on the ground in a circle.  Dodge away or jump to avoid.

Shock Line (Club):  He will hold his club above his head, swing it around in the air, and slams it down, causing a wave to head towards you.  Dodge to the side or jump to avoid.

Electric Blast (Sword):  He will hold his sword up and create a sphere of electricity briefly.  Dodge away to avoid.

Electric Bolt (Sword):  He will hold his sword back, and then lunge it forward, launching an electric orb at you.  Dodge to the side to avoid.

Slash (Sword):  He will swing his sword back, an unblockable symbol will appear, and he will slash in an arc in front of him.  Dodge away to avoid.

After the three statues come to life, you need to be constantly on the move. When dealing damage, aim for the spear or sword wielding statues as the club wielding one blocks quite often and is more likely to hit you with an AoE attack than the others. Despite there being three enemies, the attacks they throw your way are quite basic at this point and easy to dodge (a lot easier than the last boss you fought). They do have a combined health total so it doesn't matter which one you damage as any will count towards finishing them all off.

Once you have dealt enough damage to all three, the sword wielding statue will be destroyed via cut-scene. The two remaining statues will gain more range, increased attack speed and some attacks will become unblockable. Remember to keep concentrating your attacks on the spear wielding statue. This should quickly get you to another cut-scene where the sword wielding statue is destroyed.

This final statue can be tougher to deal with, mainly due to his newly improved electric AoE attack which is difficult to dodge due to it's increased height. You need to clear it at the peak of your jump to avoid the wave. Aside from that, just keep up the pounding until the remaining life is gone. Once at this point, the statue will jump to the edge of the area and begin creating a massive wind that pushes you backwards. To win the fight you need to move towards him (dodging the lightning he fires) until you reach him. After that, there is a QTE to complete and the fight is over.

Trevor will begin blowing a massive horn on the other side of the castle (it's never nearby is it?).
