Level 12 – Rapturous Rise

Captain America and the Thing will land gently (and not so gently) on the tropical beach at the start of the level.

Minikit 01/10 – Cracked wall + Telekinesis + Sand:

 

At the back wall of the starting area is a cracked wall. Swap to a character who can deal with that (eg: Wolverine) and destroy it. Telekinetic blocks will come tumbling out, so swap to a telekinesis character (eg: Jean Gray) to build a sand pit. Swap to a sand character (eg: Sandman) to turn into a palm tree and coconut the minikit into existence.

 

Minikit 02/10 – Dig spot:

 

One of the dig spots on the left side of this area can be dug up to disgorge the pieces for a crab. Reconstruct it and it will travel to the water, leaving the minikit in its wake.

The first step is to release the Thing so the trek can get underway. The glowing fronds on the back wall contain the parts you need to make a pump to get the Thing out of the hole. Jump on the plunger a few times and he will be free. A wave of brotherhood mutants will show up to slow you down so start clobberin'.

 

Behind the leaf covering on the wall to the right is a crack for the Thing to smash through. Swap to Captain America and take the new path cautiously, turrets at the end of the path will open fire when anyone approaches so be ready to activate shield mode. Once you reach the turrets, deflect their rounds back to destroy them.

 

Use the stumpy remains of the right turret to destroy the cracked wall underneath the electric barrier. Inside is a shield switch for Captain America to trip that will disable the electrical barrier and allow you to pass.

Minikit 03/10 – Super sense + web spot:

 

After getting through the electric fence and turrets, against the back wall of the area is the front of a car (embedded in the wall) with a super sense spot in front of it. Swap to Spider-man to reveal the web spot and pull it down to receive the minikit.

As you pass through the now deactivated barrier, swap to Captain America if you haven't already as another turret will open fire from the left. Destroy it with its own shots. Another will be on the right side so head over and deal with that one as well. Behind a frond on the lego wall to the right are a pair of green handles for the Thing to use.

 

The pieces of fallen wall can be made into a pushable lever. Push it to raise the bridge to the right. Another turret will be waiting for you across the bridge so be ready. Swing across the gap with Captain America and break open the wall of leaves to find a shield switch. This disables the electrical barrier and lets the Thing through.

Minikit 04/10 – Gold barrier:

 

In the glass windowed room with the golden door, swap to a fire based character (eg: The Human Torch) and cut open the door to find the minikit.

Climb up again and throw Captain America's shield at the base of the crane for an impromptu bridge. Climb up with the Thing and use the green handles to pull open the door and discover a new path.

Minikit 05/10 – Destroy five golden flowers + Flame:

 

In the next area, head left past the checkpoint to find the first golden flower, swap to a flame based hero (eg: The Human Torch) and melt it down. The second is on a ledge next to the front of the wrecked plane. The third flower is next to the plane's tail wreckage. The fourth flower is next to a pair of green handles, found shortly afterwards in the level. The fifth and final flower is in the electrical barrier, disable the barrier and melt it for the minikit.

Destroy the plant coverage on the log and use the Thing to grab the green handles. Head on through and be prepared to fight raptors. Why? How? Who knows.

Minikit 06/10 – Open four suitcases + Explosives:

 

After ripping apart the large log (using the green handles) with a big character, a suitcase will be on the other side. Blast it open with an explosives character (eg Iron Man – Mark 42). Between the pieces of plane wreckage on a small ledge is the second suitcase. The third suitcase is right of the plane's tail wreckage. The fourth suitcase will be in the small tower with the cracked wall (on the right side of the electrical barrier), fly up and blow it away for the minikit.

After clearing out the raptors, use the green handles at the back of the area to move some wreckage and reveal some poles to swing from as Captain America. Swing across and use his shield to enter the burning plane. Inside is a switch that releases the evacuation slide of the plane, letting the Thing reach the upper level.

 

Just outside the burning portion of the plane are some objects to destroy to get the parts for a pair of green handles. Assemble it on the sealed plane wreckage and wrench it open with the Thing. This grants access to the right side of the area.

Stan Lee – Ice:

 

Beside the front half of the crashed plane are several small fires, use an ice based character (eg: Iceman) to douse them and save Stan.

 

Minikit 07/10 – Ice + Explosives:

 

The tail section of the plane will be blocked by fire (Use an ice based character – eg: Iceman) and silver lego bricks (use an explosives based character (eg: Iron Man – Mark 42) to reach the minikit inside.

Destroy all the objects in the center area to get the parts for a jet engine on wheels. This goes nuts and crashes into the wall at the rear of the area, opening it up for travel. This new path will bring you to a bridge that is locked off. However, Captain America can swing underneath it to reach the other side.

 

Two turrets are waiting for you over there so be ready with your shield. After taking them down, head into the bridge, clear out the enemies and use the switch to open the door. The Thing can now cross and break down the wall with green handles.

Minikit 08/10 – Telekinesis + Mr Fantastic:

 

To the left of the electrical barrier is a wall of palm leaves that can be moved aside with a telekinetic character (eg: Jean Gray). This will reveal pieces of a grille for Mr Fantastic to build and enter. He will pop out inside the tower on the right hand side and collect the minikit.

Battle the raptors in this new area and then grab the rock underneath the cracked wall with the Thing. Throw this up into the cracked wall to reveal the parts for a shield switch. Build and activate it with Captain America to disable the electrical barrier. Enter the new area by passing through where the barrier was.

Minikit 09/10 – Destroy five buried objects + Dig spot:

 

Scattered around this area are five dig spots (use a clawed character – eg: Wolverine) that when excavated, reveal orange objects. The final two are inside the boss area. Smash all five of these for the minikit.

 

Minikit 10/10 – Magnetism:

 

Above and slightly to the left of the gate is a magnetic object (Use a magnetic character – eg: Magneto) that can be knocked down for the final minikit.

After storm has joined the party, smash the greenery out of the way of the cracked wall. Take control of the Thing and smash your way through to discover the parts for an electrical panel. Build and charge it with Storm to lower the gate next to you. Head into the final area before the boss and you should be able to spot the shield deflection panel underneath the pile of leaves and branches.

 

Two laser cannons will open fire as you approach so run up with Captain America, construct the pad and reflect the lasers back into the cannons to clear the path. Use the fallen pieces to make an electrical panel for Storm to charge. This will lower the final gate.

Boss: Rhino & Magneto

 

 

 

Rhino will emerge and then start charging constantly. He doesn't really vary his attack and is easy to avoid so concentrate more on setting up the things needed to damage him. The first one is to destroy all the objects in the center of the area. This will give you the parts to make a giant pumpkin (*shakes head*).

 

Finish constructing it and then lure the Rhino into running into it. This will stun him for a few seconds, which should allow you to swap to the Thing and land a good hit or two on him before he flees encased in a pumpkin (wow, embarrassing much?).

 

 

Magneto will then take you on himself. However his sequence is pretty easy to work out. He encases a metal object in a magnetic field and then smashes it into the ground, hoping to hit you. After a certain number of hits the object disintegrates, leaving a pile of parts to turn into a green handled throwing object for the Thing.

 

Throw it at Magneto to break his shield and then bop him one when he is on the ground. He will rise into the sky again and the sequence starts again. Repeat this two more times to defeat Magneto.
