McCree

McCree

Role: Offense
Difficulty: Medium

Like any proper cowboy, McCree is armed with a deadly six-shooter and dead-eye precision.

Abilities
Peace Keeper: McCree can use his pistol in two ways, one to accurately dispense high damage rounds, or he can fire the remainder of the cylinder with lightning speed to dispense of close by enemies.
Combat Roll: McCree rolls in whichever direction he’s moving, meanwhile reloading the Peace Keeper, allowing for continued fire.
Flash Bang: A grenade that stuns enemies, allowing you a few precious seconds to line up a clean headshot, or sit on the hammer and unload the rest of your ammo.
Dead Eye: McCree’s Ultimate allows him to target enemies in his field of vision, and once ready, can deliver a devastating flurry of precise rounds into them.

Tactics
McCree is a great 1v1 assault character due to his exceptional DPS output, and Fan Fire ability. Your best bet with McCree will always be to take down singled out enemies, using  the Flash Bang to stun and then the Fan Fire to take them out. This method can easily be used to win most head to head battles. His Combat Roll, can also be immensely helpful in a 1v1 fight, as doing so instantly reloads his revolver, allowing you to unload a second round of Fan Fire.
Your Dead Eye is best used from a safe position above the playing field. You move slower and are made more visible while in this mode, but a well timed dead eye can be devastating to an opposing team.

Pro-Tip
McCree's flashbang can interrupt and cancel out ultimates, Pharah's for instance, will instantly cease.

Strong Against
Reinhardt: Your Combat Roll can be used to dodge his charge, and your Flash Bang can be thrown over his deployed shield to effectively stun him. Your Fan Fire can also be used to either dismantle his shields, or his health.
Winston: All of McCree's attacks work in close range, and since Winston also works in close range he is a prime target. Pair your stun grenade with a few bursts of Fan Fire, and you will make quick work of him. Start your assault with some long range fire towards Winston, and this fight will be a quick one.

Weak Against
Bastion: McCree's slow movement paired  with Bastion's high rate of fire in his Sentry mode, McCree can easily fall to a well placed Bastion. To avoid an untimely demise, stick to corridors and cover until you can close in on him and use Fan Fire to take him out.
Torbjörn: His turrets can be deadly for anyone, but especially so for McCree. His Flash Bang don't affect the turrets, and he isn't fast enough to out-pace them. It's best to avoid the turrets until you can close in and use Fan Fire, which will easily dismantle them. You can then eliminate Torbjörn easily as your DPS is significantly higher, especially when using Fan Fire.

Story

Armed with his Peacekeeper revolver, the outlaw Jesse McCree doles out justice on his own terms.

McCree had already made a name for himself as a member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, which trafficked in illicit weapons and military hardware throughout the American Southwest, when he and his associates were busted in an Overwatch sting operation. With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was given the choice between rotting in a maximum-security lockup and joining Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert ops division. He chose the latter.

Although he was initially cynical, he came to believe that he could make amends for his past sins by righting the injustices of the world. McCree appreciated the flexibility afforded to the clandestine Blackwatch, unhindered by bureaucracy and red tape. But as Overwatch's influence waned, rogue elements within Blackwatch sought to bring down the organization and turn it to their own ends. Wanting no part of the infighting, McCree set off alone and went underground.

He resurfaced several years later as a gunslinger for hire. But while McCree's talents are sought after by parties great and small, he fights only for causes he believes are just.
